I will not be covering the 2008 election. The SD Sec of State has implemented their own (suspiciously similar) website with realtime results and county maps, and at the same time discontinued their raw data feed, so I am unable to get data for this election. It's possible this could have been worked out with them, but I was not able to devote much time this year... and their site perhaps makes mine redundant. But thank you for your interest, I really had a lot of fun creating this site (doing AJAX in 2000 - before it had a name!) and perhaps there will be more to come someday. This is still my favorite logo and domain; I hate to waste it!

Here is the new official results site: South Dakota Election Results

Our data is received directly from the SD Secretary of State's office and updated as results become available, about every five minutes. The first results will be available starting when the polls close at 8:00 PM CDT on November 7th, 2006. Great care is taken to ensure accuracy, however these unofficial results have not been certified and are subject to change as data is updated and corrected by local electoral boards.

There is no faster source for South Dakota Election Data

Vote information is received from the South Dakota Secretary of State's Office at regular intervals and is processed automatically. However, Online Election Data are for Reference Use Only and should not be considered Official Results. While extensive care is taken to ensure accurate information, we cannot be responsible for incorrect data.
